A romantic bridal crown for a Lancashire bride and her floral Ronald Joyce wedding dress.

I may have let out a squeal of pure joy when real bride Bryony visited my Cheshire studio for a bespoke wedding accessory consultation and shared photos of her dress, the eye poppingly stunning Celestina from Ronald Joyce, with me!

Designing a romantic bridal crown that would compliment a floral wedding dress like this one was an absolute dream, with so many elements to draw on for the finished bespoke design.

I chatted to Bryony about using a wedding day accessory to make sure your guests eyes are lifted all the way up through your look to the headpiece, taking in all the delicious elements on the way - your wedding outfit, your bouquet if you're having one, your joyful face and up to the very top, with the final flourish being your hair accessory!

She wears a blush pink floral appliqued wedding dress with a train and a deep red velvet shrug around her shoulders. On her head she wears a rose gold, blush pink, deep red and navy crown.
Your wedding day hair accessories should draw the eye up through your whole look

Wedding hair accessories can either catch the eye by echoing and complimenting the design of your wedding day outfit, picking out shapes, colours and textures, or through clashing, for example using contemporary materials and bold colour, against more traditional wedding day attire.

Bryony chose to compliment her wedding dress with a full bridal headpiece that echoed the colours, patterns and details found in the floral appliqué on her wedding dress.

Together we chose the warmth of rose gold for the structure of her crown to sit with the blush tones in her dress, punched through with clusters of seed beads in a deep maroon red, navy, and the softest blush pink to pick out those same colours in the dress detailing. Hand built, hand painted, ceramic leaves in sage green and light gold, steered this design away from becoming too pink, and with the whole design set on a full, yet light wire frame, Bryony was able to wear this wedding headpiece all day long without feeling that the headpiece was wearing her.

I absolutely loved working with real bride Bryony on this wedding crown and was delighted when she left these kind words in her review:

“Heidi is so lovely and talented. After showing her my dress she knew exactly what I wanted. The head piece was perfect.”
